Nous ses parents apprécions l’environnement bilingue, qui lui permet de progresser en anglais comme en français. Bien sûr, nous savions que les activités artistiques occupaient une place importante dans le curriculum, mais nous avons été épatés de découvrir les châteaux forts en carton et les cirques en papier mâché réalisés par les enfants lors de leur exposition annuelle. Rainbow is a special place, a place of many memories and many lessons. As a preschooler, I learnt to share toys, play well with others, make music, and create art. As a university student and later a medical student, I continued to stay involved and visit Rainbow, despite having moved away to Newfoundland. On a visit home to Montreal, I even had the opportunity to help out preparing sets and costumes for one of Rainbow’s big shows. I remember these shows from my own preschool days. J’ai bien dû visiter huit garderies avant de choisir Rainbow. J’y ai tout de suite trouvé l’atmosphère agréable, mais surtout ouverte sur le monde et la différence. Our children have grown wonderfully while at Rainbow. From initially shy and watching the first class performance in the first term, not quite daring to take part, to singing loudly and happily at every performance since, it has been a pleasure to watch them grow in confidence as they explore art, music, play and learning with the teachers at Rainbow. My son Shaun attended Rainbow for the two years we were based in Montreal. We could not have found a preschool more suited to our needs. Shaun was immediately made welcome to feel at home, and I found going to school a few hours each day with the same teachers and classmates helped him settle in easily. I liked the fact that the children could play in all the rooms in the morning upon arrival, with toys and gym equipment that were rotated daily... Always something new to do. I also liked the fact that the children were able to use Westmount Park throughout the year. Summer picnics and scavenger hunts, winter ice skating and tobogganing, and weekly walks to the library for story's. The teachers all went beyond the call of duty, caring, loving and learning in a fun environment, even helping walk Shaun home after school on the odd occasion when I was unable to collect him! Finally the friendships Shaun made at Rainbow were really special and will continue into the future. The families came from both French and English backgrounds, and being such a close knit community we were always bumping into Shaun's school friends wherever we went.

I was a student at Rainbow during the early 1980s, and I have now returned to do my university internship there. Rainbow is a warm and welcoming place to be. The educators are well-informed, responsible, fun and caring individuals that will leave an enjoyable and everlasting impression on their students. My parent’s experiences were so positive, that my younger brother also attended following me, and to this day we have remained friends with some of our classmates. Rainbow preschool felt like the right fit from our very first visit. As Director, Jacqueline Thom’s approach is focused on learning through experimentation and play with a strong emphasis on the development of social skills and independence through interaction. Both of our children have attended Rainbow – the elder’s transition to kindergarten was completely smooth and stress free thanks to Rainbow’s preparation and we are watching our youngest’s self-confidence bloom. But just as important as the developmental focus, every time we enter the school, we are struck by the level of caring from all of the staff – the children’s smiles and enthusiasm speaks for itself.

Rainbow is such a nurturing and caring environment that I happily recommend to anyone who is looking for a pre-school in Montreal. The staff is so wonderful with all of the children, I immediately feel the warmth when I walk in. The feedback on my daughter's progress is consistent and the teachers keep me informed. I feel comfortable knowing that my daughter is getting a great base prior to entering kindergarten, with a considerable amount of French. She has been helped to refine interpersonal skills along with finding alternative ways to convey strong emotions. The teachers show a tremendous amount of patience with the children. The school is very accommodating with lunch programs and afternoon activities. I can't speak highly enough about Rainbow Pre-School.
